It’s an important time of year to think about the well-being of others. Especially those who may not have the simple things we often take for granted. So, we want you to buy or find a big box and throw in items you’d like to donate. In fact, we’d like you to encourage friends, family members and classmates to do the same. The more you can give, the better off someone else will be. Here are some donation ideas.
1. Canned Foods
Look through your cabinets and donate any non-perishable foods that you and your family aren’t using. Not only is this a great way to clean out your cupboards and cabinets, but it’s also a great way to help those in need.
2. Clothes and Shoes
Take a look through your closets and donate any old clothes or shoes that you’ve either out grown or no longer wear. Not only is this a great way to clean out your closet of unwanted items, but it’s also helping to provide comfort to someone in need.
3. Coats and hats
As winter approaches, take a look through your closet and donate any unwanted cold weather accessories, such as coats, gloves, scarfs and hats, that you and your family no longer wear. This small gesture can help someone survive the winter weather.
Take a look through your toy chest or room and donate any toys you’ve out grown or no longer play with.
Look through your family’s library and donate any books or magazines that your family is no longer reading.
